Effective Proprietary Design
Tubular, porous, RainTube “core elements” are corrugated for strength, providing both structure and void space. Curved surfaces with concentric grooves and circular passages maximize hydraulic flow while adding strength and resistance to crushing forces.
High Capacity
The RainSpace™ tubular core of RainTube elements provides over 97% void space storage efficiency. Modular design means systems can be designed to infinite capacities to fit any need.
Easy Installation
Installs quickly. Available in convenient 10’ stick lengths for easy transportation, storage and safe handling during installations.
Versatile
RainSpace™ can be designed to fit any size or shape application, including curves, circles or unlevel sites in water volumes from 2,500 gallons up to 1,000,000 + gallon commercial installations.
Long Life
The RainSpace™ High Density Polyethylene RainTube core has 100-plus year life.
Certified Environmentally Friendly
RainTube® is made in the U.S.A. from 100% post-consumer recycled material and is 100% recyclable. Sustainablility is certified by multiple third party agencies.
Lightweight
All materials are lightweight and can be handled and placed by hand with no heavy equipment.
Pre-Packaged Kits
RainSpace™ is shipped in prepackaged kits including Geomembrane Liner and Geotextile Cushion; seal tape; RainTube core element bundles; pump well and cap; stainless steel clamps; detailed installation guide.

Specification
SECTION 33 16 16 Underground Water Utility Storage Tanks
Scope
This specification describes the RainSpace™ modular underground water storage systems for use in mass water storage and detention applications.
Requirements
RainSpace™ system components include liner, 4” inside diameter RainTube® core elements, inflow and overflow pipes, pump well pipe, lid and stainless steel sleeve clamps. RainTube® core elements shall meet ASTM F405.
Liner Performance
The liner shall be installed continuously and without joints where possible. If joints are required they are to be performed per the published RainSpace™ installation guide. Pipe penetrations will be secured and sealed with stainless steel banding. In rocky conditions or where any abrasion may occur to the liner, install an approved geo-textile cushion between the abrasive and the liner. Install metallic locator tape to the liner at corners prior to covering. Where high water tables exist, install sub-drain system to remove hydraulic pressure from the system.
Core Performance
Modular core elements shall be continuous un-joined units, factory packaged.
Fittings
Pipe sleeve clamps shall be stainless steel and shall conform to ASTM F405 or ASTM F667.
Material Properties
Core elements shall be manufactured of post-consumer recycled high density polyethylene conforming with the minimum requirements of cell classification 423410C as defined and described in the latest version of ASTM D3350; or ASTM D1248 Type III, Class C, Category 4, Grade P33. Liner shall be minimum .45 mm EPDM fabricated by Rain Technologies Inc. for RainSpace™.
Installation
Installation shall be in accordance with RainSpace™ published installation guidelines with the exception that minimum cover shall be determined by site engineer to meet actual conditions and anticipated maximum surface loads.
